Second Annual Alex Boyes Memorial 5k Run/Walk

On Saturday, Sept. 17, Gilda’s Club will hold its second annual Alex Boyes Memorial 5k Run/Walk. Alex Boyes was a standout Gilda’s Club volunteer, becoming involved with the clubhouse because of his mother’s breast cancer diagnosis and completing his Eagle Scout project here. Tragically, Alex himself was diagnosed with skin cancer and passed away in September 2009 at the age of 22. The 5k Run/Walk memorializes a much-loved member of the Gilda’s community and the spirit of volunteerism he embodied. Walkers and runners of any ability are invited to join the Boyes family and Gilda’s Club for this wonderful event. Registration is only $20 and is available through our Firstgiving page. Please call or e-mail Beth Starrantino (215-441-3290 ext. 104 or beth@gildasclubdelval.org) with any questions.

“Paws 4 Life” Dog Walk

Gilda’s Club and Stroehmann will present the 13th Annual “Paws 4 Life” Dog Walk on Saturday, October 1 at Warminster Community Park. Registration begins at 9 a.m. with the walk itself starting at 10 a.m. Following the walk, Gilda’s invites everyone to join us at our clubhouse — adjacent to the park — for some Family Fun, including food, a Moonbounce and playground for children, a DJ, contests and prizes, raffles and auctions, a demonstration ring, and a vendor area. It’s a wonderful day for family and friends — both two-legged and four-legged — and raises much-needed funds to support Gilda’s Club. Registration is $25 a dog and is available through our Firstgiving page. (Humans are invited to register for $0 and create a Firstgiving fundraising page to ask friends and family to support them and Gilda’s Club.) Please contact Beth Starrantino at 215-441-3290 ext. 104 or beth@gildasclubdelval. org with any questions — or check our Dog Walk webpage.
